We are arriving Friday evening, so make sure there is plenty of rice.  Jill can eat her own body weight of the stuff.

To be fair that is still less than I'll eat in an average sitting - Jill is a fully paid up member of the TCCU.

Just to highlight this from the NOR for the weekend....

"...CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
The event is open to MPS, B14 and Cherub Class dinghies. All boats must be paid up members of the Class Association... "

We'll allow it if at least one crew member of the boat is a paid up member, but would be nice if both were!

We have seem to have a whole range of accomodation options, from homestays to camping. So I hought I'd throw one more into the mixing pot. I take posession of my house tomorrow (Friday) so I'll have floor space available and a famous Tinner Breakfast!

Dear All,

One of our duties as a fleet is to help move the large number of Tasars and Lasers along the beach tonight. I have about 4 people confirmed, which is probably fine, but if you are available please do come down as a few extra hands never go amiss. There is also free chilli too. People are coming at 4ish, but any time you could come would be welcome.

Tinner -the home owner  Crickey!

There are some myths that you need to know.

Homes don't need repaired with epoxy, polyfiller is fine.
Fronting plates are also not required to attach shelves and pictures. (a simple screw and rawl plug are sufficient)

Cleaning is also not neccesary but i suspect you know that.  (It's a wives tale that houses need to be cleaned once a week)!

Curtains are essential to avoid the sun reflecting off the TV.

Cushions are accepable if they come with furniture. Additional cushions are only bought buy women. They serve no additional purpose (the cushions that is).

i hope this helps.

Haha, you can barely see my sofa for the number of cushions... I will have to show this info to Kate!

Not quite correct: additional cushions do serve as ad hoc pillows when you a bunch of less than sober sailors staying. For the same reason chairs and sofas should have detachable back/vertical cushions so they can be spread on the floor to increase the accomodation...

Not sure what actually happened in the racing. 11 boats turned up over the weekend.

Team EJ  had a shocker. Day 1 sense of humour failure by helm.  Day 2 complete failure o kite system. 3 starts, no finishes - officially our worse results for a weekend ever. On the other hand it was lovely to see everyone and we did actually have a lovely time.

Davro - your boat looks awesome

Thanks for a brilliant weekend to all who made it, hopefully the first of many at Whitstable it was great to have so many make the trip. Also nice to see that the results were mixed and things were a lot closer than may have been previously. A special thanks for Phill and Sarah for letting me sail, I'm sure I'll have recovered by wednesday!

Funny, I was having a look at the Whitstable webcam a few hours ago, thinking wow, that looks just like Davro's boat. So it was! The whole thing was a bit bizarre, sitting in Newcastle looking at an open meeting 300 miles away! Does this qualify me for some kind of geek award?
