Hi, my mobile is not working and i a have just PM'd jamie who I am supposed to be giving a lift to Inlands.

I am just off to the GP with my daughter who may be seriously ill.

If anyone can get a message to him I would be grateful as I don't have a number without my mobile.

The situation may resolve and we may be at Inlands,

Nigel

Yes I hope Torchy's daughter is ok. Frustrating 1st sail in a breeze yesterday evening. Gusty F4, rushing to get out, rigged some bits and bobs wrong and had trouble getting off a shallow beach with lots of fishing boats to avoid, but fine once we eventually got into deep water. We will be at the inlands with the boat to get rigging, rudder set up and launching tips but unlikely to race looking at the forecast. I'm hoping it's going to be ok to pitch up with a boat and not necessarily race, but get a sail in if it drops off for a spell?

Chris,
If you are on the water, then you are completely welcoem to race. I can almost guarentee you will be better than we are.

Chris,

We'll be doing the same as you.  My crew is relatively novice and nervous about sailing in strong winds.  We'll have our boat with us and will launch if conditions allow.  If its really windy I'll be spending a lot of time with my camera!

Hi all - hopefully I'll be heading down at some stage to have a nose at the action but Koko is staying at Grafham as i don't have towbar or decent crew...  I'll throw my sailing kit in the car in case anybody with a nervous crew does fancy a spin in stronger winds and happy to help launch/recover too.

Jenny is in hospital and Sam and I are just debating what to do...it is a long-term condition and others are about to care for her and the baby.

If we do come tho'...I'm a bit stressed, so don't get in my way on the start line  ;D

Jamie has been in touch and I'm just about to contact him

btw To everyone still at the event...yes, that is Loco you see stranded for a second year in succession at QMSC! The lighting on the trailer failed (new car, electrics and lighting board) and it wasn't legal for me to tow home.

I'm sorting it this week...hopefully. Trailer is locked, so can't be moved even to Andy and Gill's. Fingers crossed

Where are the photos Ade? I can't find them on QMSC site.

I just had a look at the tracking app. Very cool indeed. Just saw Clive hitting 20.0 kts a short time ago!

Great fun yesterday and again today - today's gusts were quite special. Nursing some impressive bruises but we had some fantastic Born Slippy action. We were just a little bit gutted they canned the second race today after we had crossed the startline.
Ade, social chat was of course up to its usual cherub standard, but it all went decidedly quiet when dinner arrived, and most of us were in need of an early night to recuperate.

By virtue of the gods, our tracker didn't work on either day (which i'm not best chuffed with !) however, on Saturday our velocitek did - sadly on Sunday it didn't where on one reach only, we certainly exceeded this ... possibly by quite a lot if the marks in my wetsuit are to be relied upon.
