We'll be at the Swallows Rest campsite for Friday and maybe Thursday PM. It looks like there will be 14+ of us on the water

Or maybe not. I have now secured the option of bunks on a large floating caravan for Friday ...

14+ you must know something we don't - 12 entered on the website.  Forecast looks good.

We went to the Birkett over the weekend.  Good on Saturday if a little 'on off' from no wind to 15 plus knots within a few meters, no wind Sunday but a nice 3 days in the Lakes.

A bit tricky upwind as we got stuck in the holes longer than other boats but the 7 mile downwind was a complete blast and recovered us to a respectable handicap position of 6/215 on race 1.

Definately possible to win in a cherub but would need two days of relatively consistent moderate winds to co-incide with race weekend.  I may be too old by the time that happens........ but recommend other cherubists should consider the long drive in a future year.

Usagi and Loco will be meeting in The Old Castle Hotel on Friday night from around 8ish traffic permitting for a couple of shandies and a Thai.  Their crews may even be there too.

Loco's crew is in Vietnam and Tom (crewing Weymouth) is otherwise engaged Friday night.

btw I'm strictly gluten free if I want to remain healthy...should be OK but I've learned by mistakes that I'll need to talk to the chef/maitre d'

There is only one day left for entering so any one thinking of joining in on this one needs to get entered, even if you then can't make it.

Please bring your completed Nationals entries forms with you and cheque books. To date we only have one entry for the Nationals which is making me nervous. I will bring some spare forms and persuader.

See you there

Will do nationals entry tonight and pay by bank transfer.

It is quite a step change for the class to pre enter and pre pay so it is not suprising that you have few entries yet.

Cheers Paul,

Have printed a copy.  It does appear that both course are in the same location in the bay or in the harbour but i hope this is a typo.

On our course it appears we have 3 starts on our course with a similar no. of boats on each start. I can't see any reason to combine starts so i hope everyone gets away cleanly.

note email from the regatta which says roads may be busy due to hotter weather.

Fantastic weekend's sailing. Some close racing and a lot of sun.

Usagi
A+E
Marmite

Memory of the weekend - Nigel and Loco hotting it up at the end of today's second race and blitzing down to the comittee boat like a train on rails.
