I have had to revise my plan and won't be arriving till Saturday evening. I hope to sail Sunday.

Mr Kiddle the Elder, you had better make sure you are fit for sailing on Sunday - it's about time you made good on those promises to take me out for a splash ;)

I aim to be there in medium boat mode, a modest 13 footer, John i suppose it might finally be your turn

oh goody :D

So far it's looking like a good breeze tomorrow and a bit more 'interesting' on sunday.  Should be fun.

Hi Guy's I am looking at buying a Cherub to sail with my son Alex (10).

We live in Southampton, but will be sailing at Hayling.
If we come down to Netly tomorrow is there a chance of getting a test sail in a boat.

Sounds good Clive. As Hayley says, come down tomorrow or Sunday and I am sure we can get you out in something.

For all coming, my number is 07828 662185 so give me a call and I can give you the gate code to get in if it is not open.

We currently have no rescue cover for Saturday as we will be the only ones at the club, but normal service from the club will be operating on Sunday.

The fireworks in the country park are at 7:30 but they are going to be putting in a one way system as they will be charging people to come in for them... I'll post the email I have received below and it seems that it is out of the clubs hands so we will just have to go with it...

"***On NOV 5th All members wanting to enter the Park between 5-8pm MUST produce their membership card.***

*** NO MEMBERSHIP CARD - PAYMENT ON THE GATE WILL BE REQUIRED.****

Ticket prices are: On the night - Adult £7, Conc £5, family ticket £20 (2 adults, 2 kids)

There will be a one -way system in operation, people will only be able to enter the site between 5 & 8pm.

No-one will be able to leave the site until after this time. "

I believe that if we get into the club before that then we will be able to watch the fireworks for free and then head out for food/drink afterwards. Any questions please give me a buzz and I'll try and help, had a hectic week trying to re-fit out the boat, playing catch up due to a disaster at work and trying to finish a mortgage application which seems to be going on and on.... anyway, see you all tomorrow!

Cheers Tim, do you think we could borrow a club rib? (Happy to pay for fuel).

Presumably (if we are too ravenous to wait for curry) we can eat at the club's pumpkin extravaganza between 5 and 8, bring a few beers, watch the fireworks and then head off somewhere else if we want?

Afraid I'm not going to be able to make it, combination of loads of things and I dont quite have Tims juggling ability. Enjoy, and look after Clive for me he's an old mate.

I am hoping to be able to sort out a rib, but there seems to be a communication block at the moment and unfortunately I haven't spent enough time at the club this year to be able to pull any strings so to speak...

Hayley, yes, I am pretty sure that we will be able to eat at the club and also I have my membership card so I can always get out and get back in again I would have thought if a chip run is required!

Oh... also, the quickest way back to the club from Hamble is through the country park which is pretty dark... so suggest bringing a torch with you! :-D
