The lower spreaders are 2700mm from the mast base to the bottom of the spreader bracket. The tip is 1850mm with the top spreaders just below the join. I must add that we can take no credit for the spec of this mast as Tom sorted it out. However seeing how stiff Ronins mast is we hope that somewhere in between is a good compromise.

Did you hang on to Loco's sails then? This is just a guess but wonty the jib be a bit small?

The boat looks great. Will you be ready for the nationals?

Yes we kept one suit of Loco's sails and although the jib is a little small, it was always getting caught on Loco's mast. It seems to fit well enough for us to use for the nationals as I don't believe we will be pot hunting this year with our lack of preperation, which answers your next qeustion we have to be ready for the nationals. Hopefully the boat will be painted this week which will leave a couple of weeks to fit her out just in time for Sunderland.

10 days to Sunderland!

We still hope to make sunderland. However we are not due to get the boat back untill next week!!!! AAARRRGH.
We did dry fit though so should still be possible depending on what day next week. We are still going to the Nats even if we fit out on the beach.

It sounds like you are getting on OK
The first Nationals I did with my first cherub build, I got the main and jib half an hour before I left to drive down to the event.
I had still to fit the mast out.
Fit the center console
modify a rudder to fit,
and do most of the controls.

I finally got sailing on the last day of the event, but it was well worth it.

Ummm... I'm not so sure I enjoyed my experience of that situation. Working like dogs for the week before on Loco, almost 24 hrs straight the night before we had to travel down to Weymouth. I drove, was so knackered I could hardly stand up ( I think I threw up having got a migrain ) and then fond out I was sleeping on the caravan sofa which very sensitive people would not get off of until god knows when in the evening. I went to sleep on a park bench. We eventually got sailing 3 days into the Nationals if I my memory serves.

If doing it again ( oh I just have ) unless everything is nicely under control I wouldn't rush a boat to get to the Nationals. Maybe I'd go to say hello etc.. . but not with a boat I'd had to rush to finish. I found it all to unpleasant, fruitless and expensive.

After sensibly not rushing to the 2009 nationals, is the Ambulance ready for 2010? Nice to see you are at least at peace with the world around you and hold no grudges.

The Ambulance is ready. The crew is not however. So as much as I'd love to help scotlands improvement in climate by driving up and increasing the planets thermostat a little more. It's not going to happen, sorry.
