I think that this could be an excellent event to showcase the Cherub against the other classes. Potentially any Buzz, Iso or 4k sailors could be shown 'the light' and be attracted to the ways of the UK Cherub!

Looking at that link  I am going to join strawberry and decide not to class a cherub as a skiff  ;D

In additon I'm tempted to offer to sponsor a boat to opt to use the crane - for £20 it would be great to watch. Unfortunatly, I am not going to be able to though, we are booked out for this one. Hayley is learning how to drive ribs scarrily fast and without her in the boat I'll never work out when the appropriate time to head throught he finish line is. Happy counting/squinting at the comittee boat...

Is this us just joining in the regatta that is usually canceled at the last minute or is this proper cherub event with class starts etc?

This is a proper event, we get our own starts on a windward leeward course rather than what has happened in previous years  :)

I'd love to sail at this event as well but I don't think I'll be ready by then. Available as crew.

I have a friend who works for Sail Laser who has offered me floor space... I'll see if I can get that extended to more of an open invitation!  ;)

If no one wants a crew could I possibly get a sail after racing? Im quite keen to get a feel for the more modern boats. I have sailed on Dangerous Beans and would quite like something to compare it to.

If conditions are suitable. If mrsdrlee is as ruined as I was after crewing all day yesterday, then I'm sure she won't mind.

I bicycled v slowly to work today. My body doesn't work!

How was the open? We had some excellent breeze all weekend in Devon combined with lots of sun. Was most jealous!

I am sure that Badgers will be up for a sail after racing if the weather is good.

It is starting to look a bit unlikely that we will make this: for those who don't already know our valiant little van well and truely went to Vanhalla on the way back from Weston. Having overheated quite spectacularly on the way to the event, it was successfully rescusitated with ditchwater (complete with freshwater shrimps). Sadely, we ommitted to re-fill the radiator before the return jurney and it blew the head gasket somewhere south of Fleet.

RIP little van
