What's the general consensus on places to stay? Do the sailing club have a patch of grass for tents? I might give them a call and see what they usually recommend. There seem to be very few campsites nearby and the prospect of a b&b for the week is a bit rich.

The roof of a Transit van was my choice last time, had a good view over the sea so could tell if there was enough wind to get up.

I've already bagsied the back of the 110.

Nice one Joe.

Now I just need to work out how to squeeze a bathroom and decent size bed in.

Google Earth reveals  several within about 5 miles. I hope there are not restrictions on tent sizes...

I will more than likely be staying in Chateau de Noyce but if there is camping on site then I might just stay there to save my fuel! As the races are in the afternoon I might work in the mornings and just turn up in time to sail as I am sure Alex will be more than happy to do all the rigging and bimbling by himself?!  ::)

Google Earth also reveals a big green field about 200 meters away. It might be time to implement operation'Micra transformer hotel'.

That big green field is a golf course and a cliff face according to the map.. and at least one of the nearby potential campsites turned out to be a cemetary on closer inspection. I don't think you're eligible for their accommodation if you're able to go sailing...

Re accommodation: I spoke yesterday with a lovely lady called Viv at BBSC who gave me 3 numbers for B&B's - all have availability and all are walkable from the club. Thought I'd pass them on, tarriffs seem to be about £25-£35 pn with discount for tiny crews.

Thanks for posting that Graham. I visited the club at the weekend and it is in a very cool location. I will post some pics to wet everyones appetite later. I am trying to organise cheap camping at the local scout campsite (about a mile away) as a budget accomodation option. Otherwise I think it is going to be a case of B&B's or hotels (of which there are plenty) I'll post an update as soon as we have something concrete (or grass as it might be).

Now I just need to persuade the parents to let me go.
