Hi all,
So I was talking to Roland (I think..) at the dinghy show last Sunday, and he mentioned coming to the Draycote blast on Saturday 15th. I'd love to get into sailing Cherubs, and this sounds the perfect opportunity to see if they're the boat for me. Thing is, I've done pretty much no high performance sailing before. I'm 18, sailed for about 8 years, mainly in Streakers, Toppers, and crewing N12's, with limited trapezing on slower boats (L3000, Vago, that kinda thing). I'm a pretty competent helm, having raced at national level, but never off a trapeze. Is it still worth me popping along and seeing if I can get a ride in a Cherub?
Cheers,
Robin

absolutely. you are very welcome, there is only one way to try it out and that is to do it. Sweet Dreamzzz is a marginal boat that can be sailed single and twin wire. Poppy is an out and out twin wire so you should be able to have a blast in both types of boat. look forwards to seeing you there.  ;D

As Ade said, we look forward to seeing you. Can you PM me a phone number and an idea of what time you'd like to arrive?

For anyone else reading - come try one. It's fairly impossible to see why we sail these boats from the shore or a show stand :-)

Hi, did you get my message? I'm obviously new to the forum and don't really know if it sent through! :)
Cheers,

Forecast is looking perfect for introduction to Cherub sailing on Saturday. SDzzz for the first time, ever, is ready to go! still no front foil though. Yet...

On the plus side the forecast for Saturday looks excellent.
On the negative side the paint I've just used to cover a couple of dings in the boat looks terrible.

Have a great weekend guys, wish I could join in.

Absolutely amazing sail on Saturday, many thanks to Roland and Dave for taking me out in Born slippy and Poppy, and of course the Cherub Class Association and Draycote SC for hosting and rescuing.

Are the videos/photo's from the Saturday going to be uploaded? It would be great to be able to have a look at them :)

Seriously looking at buying one when the finances come right, but until then, I'd love any opportunity to go for a ride if anyone can put up with me! :D

Cheers,

Robin

Will upload the lot to a drop box during the week. You (and your head cam)  feature a fair bit in the video http://www.uk-cherub.org.

Who took the still at the bottom? It is quality!

Really is a great photo, yeah! Got a feeling that it could have been Steve Carver :)

Cool - FYI add Ronin to the For Sale list

Hi guys, Steve here, thanks for taking me for a sail both at draycote and Rutland, I have made this forum name thanks to Roland's nickname that I acquired. And I am currently discussing buying a cherub with my parents

HobbitSteve

Oh and I did take that picture
