Dangerous Stuberry

Stuart Tinner is the owner and helm of the well known Italian Bistro design, Dangerous Strawberry. This vessel has had quite a life: Bulit by Ian Prane and launched in about 1992, then passed on to Gav Sims who did a very solid conversion to 1997 rules and came second in the nationals one year, then sold to two lads from Neyland, then on to Stu.

Stu has undergone an intensive teach-yourself-cherubbing course over the last little while and at the weekend went along to the Datchet 12 foot skiff event. You may say to yourself “what tiny chance has an elderly cherub got there?”

You'd be wrong though: By the simple and very important virtue of getting round when the breeze is on, Stu and crew Hobbo triumphed and took home the top chocolates!

Are you ready for the icing on this particular cake? Stu and Hobbo broke their pole a week or two ago and needed one pronto, so they made themselves one. It was the first spar they had ever made, and it came off the mandrel during the day on Friday - and they won a regatta with it the next day.
