Light as a....

Cherub number 11, Feather is on display in Auckland Maritime Museum in New Zealand where she was spotted by Phil Alderson and Carol Alderson, owners of Easy Wan 2686 Primal Scream, on their honeymoon. Good Spot!

Feather was built for Stan Lewin in 1955. She is one of three Cherubs built of sapele veneer laminated over plywood instead of the normal sheet plywood construction - a combination of plywood and cold moulded construction adopted to make use of 2.5mm ply that proved too insubstantial on its own. The practice was outlawed after three boats were built.

Feather now lives in the Maritime museum in Auckland along with a number of other interesting boats charting leasure boating in New Zealand.
