Sticky Weekend
The sticky weekend was a hotbed of boat building, modification and repair, together with a good bit of instruction in the fine art of messing about with glue. Many thanks to Paul Croote for lending the class his work shop for the weekend. For a rookies tale of the weekend see The Sticky Weekend – A Beginners Guide.
Some of the jobs done were:
- Phil Kirk & Sarah Gregson with help from Dean and Simon (who are in the queue for a Cherub) layed up and shrink wrapped a new bow sprit for Slippery When Wet.
- Matt Harris and friend with help from Lucy Lee and others re-faired and repaired the snout on Sweet Dreams.
- Will Lee and Matt Harris planned the shortening and upgrading of Sweet Dream's rig to 2005 rules.
- Tim Unerman refitted Mango Jam spinnaker system, with Roland and Hayley Trim making a new spinny sock.
- Will & Lucy with direction form Tim U filled and bonded the rudder blade shells.
- Paul Croote gave a “how to make the inside of a boat look flat without any fairing” masterclass.
- Paul Croote with help from others sprayed the deck of Woodie, the classic Cherub recently given to the class.
