For those planning to sail at the Thornbury regatta event no the 9th and 10th July I have attached the event poster.  please note that the start times are a little later than previously advertised.

There will be an evening meal served at 7:30pm tickets to purchased at registration.
Food and drinks available all day.

We have had a bit of a break through with club racing courses getting windward-leewward courses most days.  Therefore we should be getting good courses at the regatta.

I think those who went last year will agree that the event is as much of a festival as a sailing event.  Camping on  site is positively encouraged. There is a great pub serving food (made in their kitchen, not ping fodder) a few minutes walk form the club house. As we will be in a tent, there are some beds at ours in Bristol for anyone needing better accommodation (about 25 minutes away by car).

Am seriously looking forward to using my favorite set of navigation aids again (a nuclear power station, the church on the hill, the seven road bridges and Wales).

Only a few days to go till Thornbury. Born Slippy went down on Sunday. We made it there for 9.30, but sadly the wind did not.

Now the hard decision - sail the slug or the E5.....

Sailing instructions will be available on the day.
race start times were on the poster.
The event will follow the usual format for the club with 2 races each day back to back.

If the course is changed after race 1 it will be verbally comunicated to the sailors from the rescue boat.  (only happens ocasionally).
Marks are fixed and usually either blue or orange and various sizes.

A breifing will be held some time before racing will start.

general advice is don't launch to late the slipway can be quite busy.
The races can't be postponed for too long so there is a posibility that late launchers may miss a start.

otherwise enjoy. I look forward to seeing you all.
