Both boats have a full range of kit, both boats are either down to weight or very close, both are built well, both sail well... and I have sailed both of them!

I guess you just need to speak to the owners and see what they have to say. Both have been on the market a little while, but both are great boats. You won't be disappointed with either I don't think.

Jim,

Converting to a self tacker is not a extensive job but will require a track and car which can be £100-£160.  You may have to change the clew of the jib. You will need to get your hands sticky with some foam, carbon and resin and then paint afterwards. We did this on Slippery When Wet quite successfully.

I would just sail either boat with the curent set up first and enjoy it then think about changing it afterwards.

From what I have seen Sweet Dreams has new 05 rules sails and some kit but the mast is set up quite stiff.

Kipper has 97 rules sails, and appeared to sail well at the nationals.

Talk to the owners and see if you can sail the boat before you buy.

Kipper has an 05 rig in as well?
