Has anyone got a main going for 2622
« on: May 16, 2010, 02:19:03 PM »
Hi 'cherubees'
I am new to cherubs (still a virgin till next weekend!) and I am looking for a newer 2nd hand main sail to fit 'Easy Tiger' 2622.  The present main is 'Knackered. ' The mast is an alloy procter.  luff length 5200 approx .  Clew length 1850 approx .  I think that is 97 rules? I would use it mainly for handicap club racing.  I have a very lightweight crew - under 5 stone! (hopefully he will get a bit heavier!).
I hope to be handicap competive in the future so anything decent considered.  The jib is new so dont need one of them;  and the kite is average condition and will fit the bill for now.  Is there anything out there 4 me??? additional contact adrian. white57@ntlworld. com

Ade.

I hope you do find someone with an old sail.  In theory as people mod their boats up to O5 rules sails there should be some 97 rules sails available.

If you are unlucky you may consider buying new or it would be interesting to see if a second hand main from an RS200 or 400 might fit the bill.  I'm not sure on the dimensions but if it fits you get on the water.

Just a thought but 29ers have a similar rig size to a 97 rules cherub, not sure if the main would fit/work/measure but there has got to be some of those knocking around.
