Hoo Freezer 27/28 Feb Medway
1 handicap race each day. Saturday is 'practice race', Sunday is the main event. Starts 10.45 Sat, 11.00 Sun

I'm up for it, crew TBC. 3 Cherubs went last year, it will be a better breeze this time!

It's very tempting, I'll have to talk to Dean. If he can't make it, and you are looking for a crew I may be available.

I would love to crew at this one if any of you get stuck on your own!

This is a great event, last year was a bit of a drift but still fun. They have altered the format, so thius is no-longer small lapping event, but a full on epic.

Sadly this year we have to pass. 2011?

Surely you can take time off for events, especially a school that has sailing in the curriculum!

You are right Phil, batten down the hatches. I might have been tempted to take the RS800 instead had I not needed the Cherub for the series! The Cherub is great when windy but it can get to the point were it is a bit testing.

The met forecast has reduced from 28mph to 23 mph so thats alright :-\ . It is an early start on Sunday so hopefully we will be all packed up before the 40mph hits on Sunday night. Hopefully the forecast max is right.

Might use the old sails - they are heavier material and a tad smaller.
Might rake.
Must remember to pull the board up progressively as we get overpowered
Might let uppers and lowers off a tad further to try to depower our 'stiffy' more.

At least the salt water shouldn't freeze all over the boat this time!

It is for this reason, that me and sk4 will not be unleashing ourselves to the danger of the public at this event!

Right, now I am confused. I thought you pull on uppers to flatten the top of the sail and thus de-power. My time is limited in twin spreader rigged boats so please be patient with me! ;D
