2619

2619 turned up on Ebay... Don't remember having ever seen this one. If phptos are to be believed very clean and very original late 70s condition... What do the records say on design Will, the transom looks lik a Forman 8 but I'm not sure about the rest, deck layout not like most F8s.

Hi JIm,

There's only 'Deceptive Bends', a Deeley Mk 3, down as 'not alloctaed - 2425 on sails - 2619?' on the measurement cert. It is filed between 2616 Plane Jane (with ghislain in France) and 2622.

Measurement date is 11/5/1983.

Built by Dick Jarrett. Owner is Colin Smedley.

That makes some sense to me: the build looks like one of Dick's and there is something of Bill's boats about the bows...

Anyone know if this boat sold and where it went ? not that I'm being nosey particularly just interested in cherubs of that age as I used to have one. £350 for this paricular model looks like a fantastic buy !

Be nice if we can keep a track, particulary if its a jarrett/deeley - two legends in their day !

Hello All, New on here but I bought her, really pleased with how she sails. Its in Portsmouth now, afraid I can`t shed any light on the history as the previous owner was a novice and bought it as his first boat and decided it was a bit much for him. Like I say this is the first cherub I have owned so if anyone has any tips on set up and stuff please feel free to email me.
Cheers James

Thats fantastic James, I for one am pleased to see cherubs of that era in good condition and sailing. From the picture in ebay this looked like a beauty, if you can get some more and post them up here that would be great.

Of course now you have stuck your head up, stand by for the wave of pressure to attend the nationals, there is a special section for boats over a certain age and there would be no shortage of advice and assistance to get the boat in the best shape possible.

See you there !

Dear Jame,

Well done on your new purchase. There's a world of cherubby goodness out there for you to enjoy - so keep in touch!

(and I don't even need to say 'come to the nationals'!)

(12th 15th Aug at Babbacombe in Devon. V cheap and a terrific week of cherub sailing and meeting everyone. Also some races!)
