Interesting point if a little blunt and one dimensional.
I agree with the basic premise that consuming for consuming sake is daft and what is worse is judging an individuals value by their purchases is a decay of any worth while values.
Having said that using there premise that buying unnecessary items for some kind of enjoyment no matter how fleeting is the deffinition of a consumer the irony of posting it on a sailing boat owners web site was shere brilliance.
