Videos of Cherub Sailing
« on: May 20, 2024, 09:56:43 PM »
There has been some chat about getting more videos of Cherubs sailing. I have been taking a camera out for most of the sails this year, and am working on different ideas in the editing but think there is a lot to learn. Was thinking it would be good to have a thread here to share tips on how to get better video.

The most recent one is from a few weeks back, trying out a new camera mount on the boom. I have some video of me making the mount but not sure if I can edit it down to something interesting.

We are working on getting a drop box for the class to put roughly chopped footage in and then we can edit down.

We had a great sail out of the harbour in some interesting conditions, if only we had remembered to start the camera.
Small steps.
Camera charged tick
Camera mount fitted tick
Camera attached tick
Switche on doh.

There was a good camera mount idea at the show this year the pin for the Rudder was large enough to attach a stick to.
The benefit was that the pin didn't move unlike a boom mount.
