Martyn & Jamie took king tubby, both were suffering with man flu. Saturday was pretty mental, during the briefing the race officer announced that he was reading 20 knots gusting 28 knots. after a couple of swims getting out to the start there was a very long postponement because the race officer couldn't anchor the committee boat. sadly in those winds the trapezoid course was far from ideal, the top reach was far too tight, the run seemed to be about 6 inches long and the bottom reach you could carry on if you didn't get hit by a gust, which of course we did. after much swimming and some fairly epic upwind speed. we decided enough was enough and called it quits. the 20 second presentation to camera on why people should sail a cherub was a lot of fun as we picked it up and carried it into shot fully rigged whilst the sailors of much heavier boats looked on wondering what we were doing. the galley laid on a lovely roast dinner.
Sunday dawned to a lighter wind and a pursuit using the length of the whole lake, a much better course despite us choosing some interesting routes on some of the downwind legs a very reasonable 39th was achieved.
