Cycling not sailing
« on: May 26, 2017, 10:21:36 AM »
Morning all, unfortunately Squid isn't quite finished for QM, but hopefully soon the purple beastie will sail again. Along with a new crew in the form of Rebecca Bradley we will hopefully be at an event or 2 and Nationals.
Whilst Squid is in the Pearson Engineering I have stepped up my cycling and I am taking part in the London Prudential 100 on behalf of MS, details of the ride here: https://www.prudentialridelondon.co.uk/events/100/

I am hoping to raise £500 for this great charity that is very close to my heart. As some of you are aware my mum has MS and the MS Society have been great support to her and the family in these challenging times. If you can spare something, anything, I will be most grateful, and if you happen to be in London on the 30th July, come along and give me a cheer.
Please read my story here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/James-Ruddiman-Cycling

Thank you in advance and happy sailing.
Jimmy

Hmm, Cycling not sailing. A very appropriate title since a number of Surrey Sailing clubs, mine included, have to shut down operations for the day because of the damn road closures making access impossible for many of their membership. Being shut down once for the Olympics was fair enough, but losing a summer sailing day every bloody year is rather less then pleasing.

Thanks for the support guys :) I'm at just over 75% of my sponsorship target, if any one can help push me up towards that magic £500 I will be very grateful.

A Cherub Strava group sounds like an excellent idea, I'll try see what I can do and set one up for us.

There's a date in the calendar for this. Not too far in the future either.
