Altering A Main Sail

A question for the sail makers among us, I have a main sail from a i14 and would like to know if it would be possible to get it cut down to fit eva dexoff? Or even if it would be sensible to do? See pictures for scale of problem. The sail is of such a length currently that it is basically touching the transom, The width is not an issue as the boom is long enough reach to the end of the sail.

Should be fairly simple.  I've done this to a few mains


Basically you cut a piece out at or below the bottom batten. Then join it up again.

Pm me and I will do a step by step when at my laptop.

(Mashed sail has then done on the white line in the bottom panel.
