2016 Open Meeting 5 Weymouth Dinghy Regatta - July 9-10th
« on: May 12, 2016, 05:37:12 PM »
You MUST enter in advance, the regatta is limited to 120 boats and tends to fill up so I advise entering sooner rather than later if you want to attend

Entry now open at http://enter.sailracer.org/events/enter-v2rya.asp?eventid=207027

Update 21st May - they are upto 90 of 120 entries.  So if you haven't entered yet - Shiny, Eleanor, Marmite for example I suggest if you intend on going you do so soonish

Ambulance also entered.

Does anyone know of any relatively cheap, nearby accomodation/campsites? :)

The saga of calendar clashes continues.
I am afraid that we are going to do the foiling week at Garda that clashes with this event.

That must have been a long and difficult decision Garda or Weymouth.
Have fun take lots of pics and tell us how it went?
How is the foiling going this year?

Hi Dave.
We have not sailed this year.
Alex broke his hand skiing at Easter.
The cast comes off on Wednesday. Hoping for 12kts every weekend from now.

me too!
The fewer chances you get to widen your foiling window the better for us snails.
A foiling National champion is more a question of when rather than if.
Good luck with the cast and the foiling.

We have another calendar clash for the nationals and cannot do Saturday or Sunday.
I am beginning to suspect a conspiracy.

In fairness Dave you probably only need to stop a couple of them, then it's in the bag.

Nearest accommodation is the static caravan site just up the lane from the club, but I think that's all booked up. I'm still investigating...
Nearest camp site is Pebble Bank (1.2 miles) but East Fleet Farm is much nicer (and still only 3 miles)

UPDATE

I can get a static van that sleeps 6 for about £180 - that's £30 a head to be within walking distance of the club for 2 nights. But we will need to be quick!
Any takers, please?

Thanks for the quick (offline) responses from the Midlands posse, but apparently "sleeps 6" is only if two of them are small children!
So I would suggest the East Fleet campsite...

Suggest also emailing the club and asking if any members nearby would allow camping. I have asked a friend nearby and await a response...

Meal for Saturday night?

Nick mentioned something about a Thai restaurant.
Thanks
