Open Meeting 7 Cherub Inlands - Queen Mary SC 10/11th October
« on: September 04, 2015, 04:36:15 PM »
Info to be posted here as available.  QMSC is a large reservoir on the west side of London.  Directions here

Typical format - 3 W/L races per day.  Saturday start is at 12PM with competitors briefing at 10:30, Sunday first start is at 11AM.

Shared open with the RS700's and D1's.

NOR and sailing instructions http://www.queenmary.org.uk/racing.aspx

Apparently guaranteed big side on Saturday.  Likely to be smaller side Sunday.

Good news is that the bund removal is well underway, the bad news is it hasn't materially shrunk yet in a useful way for sailors.

Accommodation available at ours, Premier Inn and Travelodge nearby in Sunbury X -  though I do believe Nick & Jo may be hosting our Saturday social at their place.

We will be having a Braai (bbq) at our place to celibate my 30th.

We are located in Frensham (near the pond) GU 10 3DX which is about 45 min from Queen Mary.

There will be Fire and Beer please bring meat to cook.  Jo and I will sort salads and rolls and some beer/cold drinks.

There will be some limited spaces to sleep (beds) with a fair number of floor spots but please get in touch if you intend to stay over. (will have to survive cats.)

other cheap option is this hostel near Farnham (we have to drive through to get to QM) it's above a pub.

Other pricier hotels are available in the town

You will also be able to see the progress on the new boat.

Unfortunately neither Alex or Georgia can make the Saturday.
Are there any light weights out there who would like to sail on A+E with me if conditions are suitable?

Would your flying setup support a slightly larger crew?

Sub 60kg preferred. More is possible.

It will fly with the extra weight but I am concerned for the boat with my 90kg in the back.
Lack of room in the cockpit could be an issue.
Alex traps off the top spreader tip. It makes going forward much easier but has not been tested with a big crew.

I suspect that crew weights could start to rise as they have in the moth if foiling becomes normal.

Is that not the girth required to afford one?

EJ - is already on Poppy's stacker.

There are two boats on another double, at mine. BS is one and the other I'd need to talk nicely to the owner about.

Looks like Jo has a dance event on Sunday of this event.

If anyone is around for either just Sunday or potentially both days and is willing to crew please let me know.

thanks

Seem to have resolved the childcare issue, hopefully Ben will be sailing New Tricks with me on Saturday. May be a bit late as his football training finishes @ 10.30 will try to make second race.

Does anyone have a child's trapeze harness they could lend me for this event?

Hi Simon,
We have one you can have.
If you lend us a child for Saturday there is a second one available that is also out grown.

Only prob is that i may only be there on Sunday.
