My shoulders hurt like mad this morning after the longest white water 2 sail reach ever. The whole length of the island without being able to hoist due to the angle of the wind, twinning in some serious breeze. We were 4th boat through the bridge but ran into a fair amount of difficulties after, including a pitch pole that literally cartwheeled the boat and crew at the Medway estuary, tearing the foot off the kite and slowing our progress. Not sure where we ended up as the clubs computer crashed so still waiting for the results.

Should read '...longest white knuckle 2 sail reach...'?  :)

Sounds like fun...apart from the kite, that is

I was out F18 sailing on the other side of the Thames at Canvey Island and it was absolutely howling.  Was glad to have the other hull stabiliser but still got fully battered!  Good effort lads.

I'd say Dean and Si should be proud of that. The general confusion shows they have simply have not capsized very much this year!

I did this race in my ISO a few years back and had a great time.  I'd love to do this again!

The scorpion who beat us through the bridge ripped the rudder out of the stock if you listen you can hear it snap, and me inform them of the broken appendage. Also the reason for the capsize at the bridge was that the person helping us through let us go before we were ready, with no power in the rig we had no alternative but to capsize on purpose to stop the mast hitting the bridge as we drifted down tide. Lets just say a few choice words were mentioned at this point.
