The Midlands mini-blast went well - not enough wind but plenty of sunshine.
Johnny and Alex and Suicide Blonde took a break from chasing cats around the River Dee to dodging cats launching at Carsington. The Blonde is in skilled hands, showing good speed in the very light conditions both upwind and down.
Tom and Rachel with Norfolk in Chance are new to sailing, so they've cut out the boring boats and gone straight for the best boat around and with (I think Rachel said) a few hours in Laser Picos and a kite surfing pedigree (Tom) they reckon they'll cope - we agree.
Jo (Sweet Dreamzz' wire monkey) crewed Loco and ended up helming from the wire, which was great until we needed to swap over in a gust with the kite up...we loved it!
Nigel (Loco) and Ade (Sweet Dreamzz) want to suggest Carsington for a Midlands Open meeting next year. Excellent water, camping a stone's throw from the club. Carsington could easily host the Inlands.
Sadly no photos to show you and it was a pity because Ade (single-handed) tacking Dreamzz with the kite up was impressive.
We'll meet at Carsington again and perhaps a full weekend Blast next year at the very least.
