Resin purchase
« on: August 29, 2012, 10:50:32 PM »
So the keg is finally getting near empty and another trip to Wiz is due.

If anyone wants some Resin please get in touch via PM.
The standard deal is that Wiz is (and I am) happy to buy in bulk and then decant smaller quantities - price per kg that I pay.

I'm currently thinking of buying a vat of both SR8200 and SR5500 (plus appropriate hardener).

The data sheets are on the web (http://www.mcmc-uk.com/data-index.html).
8200 is good for poles/masts/hulls but really needs a post cure (heating up) to make it worth using.
5500 is good for bogging, filling and repair jobs - post cure less of an issue.

I'm getting low.  No projects planned but last year I used 2.5kg with no projects planned at this time.   Ben is going to need some to re-pole slippery.

I'll be buying some of the 8200 regardless. Good point and yes ben is factored into that. Will know the price Thursday. Happy to decant on request after (please note this is done for Cherubbists with Wiz's blessing - he really is a star and prefers selling bulk to decanting).

Wiz has some 7206 hardner that makes the 5500 pretty much not needed for anything but overnight boatyard repairs.
