Garda 2013
« on: June 14, 2012, 09:48:23 PM »
Every couple of years this crops up, I'm not getting younger or lighter and so I am up for giving this the big push.

It will take organisation, coordination and people willing to go, so in the spirit of booking early, am I going alone with my lilo and suntan oil ? or are any of you coming with me ?

Lets start with a roll call of who would be up for it ...

We were discussing our sailing plans on the way back from Thornbury.

Our immediate choice was whether to take the RS200 to Garda or the Cherub to Pwllheli. We have not booked any ferry tickets.

Longer term one of the sirens drawing us away from the class was the fact that the RS800s would be going to Garda in 2014.

If the Cherubs went next year it would be fantastic. We would definitely be up for it.

The Breizskiff boys (and girls) would be up for it too, I think

We should be game. Had our first trip to Italy earlier in the year and said at the time that we'd be very keen to return with boat and bikes! As long as the dates and prices are favourable then we should be a go.

With a bit of luck all this Euro nonsense will be over by then and we will not have to pay German prices.

last time we went mountain biking above Torbole we came face to face with a rather large wolf.

Have talked to the folks and we are keen...Gill wants to see more of some place called 'Italy' while we are there and I have unfinished business with a lump of ice near Chamonix. For some reason Gill doesn't want a share in my plans...funny really, since this is the view from the bedroom window (below is the bedroom)...women are strange  ;)

Dont book your holidays yet Nigel, we're very much in the "whos up for it" stage; plenty of hurdles to go yet. However I'll count you in !

Don't worry...no firm plans, just dreams...I'm also feeling a little frustrated as the summer Alpine season starts pretty much about now but the earliest I can get out there will be September, depending on health, and I miss waking up to mornings like that (10mins earlier we couldn't see anything and had called off climbing for the day, in the end we got up to 3,300m and could have peaked but made a cardinal error of not taking the bird in the hand...chased down by weather next day)

I 'm fairly sure we'd be up for this.
