Stainless Trolley
« on: April 09, 2012, 07:55:50 PM »
I noticed today that a few of the areas around the welds on my stainless trolley are failing. Should stainless do this? I have never seen another stainless trailer/trolley but have always assumed that no one used it because of cost.

Either insufficient penetration when first welded, or its suffering from heat stress.  :-\

Find a stainless welder and get it re-welded if its bad.  ;)

Is it cracking at the welds, or just discoloured?

It is cracking in the area directly around the welds. The materials scientist at work says it is most likely due to heat when welding.
