Expensive repair to old wooden Cherub
« on: May 03, 2011, 09:52:17 AM »
Tip of the day:

Do not spend your bank holiday Monday gluing your old wooden Cherub together with epoxy resin while wearing a brand new pair of Ralph Lauren trousers. :(

At least you now have a nice pair of smart boat repair trousers for use next time?! Would have been terrible if they'd been in the wash next time you needed them  :)

Umm, I suggest not. Think about where the epoxy spill might end up...

Ross and Jim, I reckon you're both right. Naked from the waist down but with all body parts coated with parcel tape could be the way to go. Might be a bit tricky getting the parcel tape off again though.

I have a box of boat building clothes which are adorned with resin and paint.

After a while you should have a reasonable collection.

The best part is that now they have a purpose the other half wont throw these old (normally) clothes away.  So if you have a cherrished old t shirt/ jumper etc that you want to hold on to just put a bit of resin on to it.

Neil, have you kept a pair trousers for every cherub you have rebuilt?

If yes then the range would make an amazing "hall of shame exhibit" on one side of next year's dinghy show stand...
