Fantastic idea!
Having shown to be not very good at Mothing earlier this month I had better pursue this challenge instead.
Katie is already in training and Mumsie will provide consultatiion.

Presumably it should be won by a very light and simple sponge cake with thin multicoloured icing on top - and on a carbon fibre plate...

 Yes cake shaping does leave you with a lot of offcuts.  We made these into a trifle.  not a flying one though!
