Just when I was on the stand yesterday I spoke to Simon Hiscocks, Mr. composite craft, Mike Cooke and Will's freind from the model yachting association.  Dave Dubrovnic was around on Saturday.  All were interested to see what we were doing and where we are going in the future.

I was knackered when i got home but had a quick beer to celebrate our excellent stand this weekend and the efforts of all involved.
I believe we can pull off what we did because we all put in a bit of time and complimented each others skills.

Yes a special thanks to Ben, Andrew and Stu for staying to help with the breakdown and ensuring that Hayley and i had everything with us.

Well done guys...sorry we couldn't be more help as we were on a tight schedule picking Loco Perro up from Tom and getting back before I turned into a pumpkin.

I spoke to a guy just as I was going who was a previous Cherub owner and was interested that the nationals were at Pwllheli as he has a cottage on Anglesey. I didn't have time to get his name but hope he gets 'hooked' and contacts. He said he's been watching the 'for sale' page but something about 'His wife might kill him...' or words to that effect  :)
Previously 2685 'Loco Perro' and 2345 'Tachyon'

just to say, I dont know if anyone cares, but i was quite obviously (to anyone there) annoyed at the all up weight of the RS900. Nick peters has givven this breakdown: 55kg fitted out hull, wings are 9kg EACH, leaving 36kg for the rig and foils.

This is to "save costs", its all fibreglass too, with an ally boom

They did quite well to get the hull down to 55kg with fittings but must have gone quite thick on the wing laminate to get to 9kg.  If they have used more than 5 layers of glass it would be as cheap to make the wings from a lighter and thinner layer or two of carbon around foam.

36kg for the rig is heavy The sails are a little bigger than a Cherubs but wont be much heavier because RS are known for their light weight sails.  Say 8kg
The boom is from a wayfarer so that could be 4kg.
Even if the pole is twice the weight of a cherub pole it would be 2kg.
The mast is carbon but if the other figures are true it would surely be lighter made out of ally.

It may be made out of the same type of carbon that that they use for byte C2 masts which is mostly glass with aluminium sleave reinforcements.

I was told that the wings were 15 kg each, so obviously there is some mis information somewhere.

I managed to pop in briefly on the Saturday. Marmite looked amazing, well done Paul. Well done to everyone involved, the stand looked great.

The 900 wings were also remarkably floppy on the underside.

Don't forget that promise you made me Ross. Get Fuzzy to the nationals (and get your bird out for a sail). Was good to see you, would be even better to see you on the water.

i was told 9kg by nick peters, so i think  it must be true. as phil said, the rig is stupidly heavy!
