Phil Kirk

Phil, a naval architect from Bristol, likes anything connected with sailing and has raced lasers and Enterprises, Offshore yachts in the past. In dinghies his credentials include winning a race at the 2004 Enterprise world championships, many local open meetings and twice been club champion at his home club Frampton-on-Severn. Offshore, Phil has sailed 3 Fastnet races and 2 Sydney to Hobarts with both Hobart races being in yachts less than 31 feet long. He also co skippered in the 2006 double handed Round Britain and Ireland Race winning Class 3 with line honors and on handicap.

While looking for a new challenge in late 2006 he came across the Cherub class and was hooked by the ideals of the class. After attending the inspirational sticky weekend in January and meeting some of the other sailors Phil bought Slippery When Wet with girlfriend Sarah Gregson. Slippery came as a part finished 1990-1997 rules upgrade and is now being finished for sailing and hopefully the 2007 nationals.
