French Fleet Winter News

Just in from Ghislain, an update from the French Fleet… and my apologies for the dodgy translation:

Dear Cherubists,

Winter's here, it's hard to find the motivation to get out on the water, your morale is down in your wetsuit boots, no worries: Cherubs are full of possibilities.

That's right, it's time to invade the garage, to move the other-half's unused exercise bike out of the way, to clear out the collection of kids bikes and that Ikea cupboard that you never put together. At least with a Cherub you get to dream of a summer's sailing whilst spending the winter putting the boat together.

Here's what we're doing:

Gilles (and Myriam) are giving Aquamarina a make-over: rub down, undercoat, repaint and get rid of all non-essentials. Watch out! I think that there's somevery trendy styling on the way.
Natural Born Skiffeurs is going to have a face-lift to finally give her the finish she deserves. Plus we have a few improvements in our sights, namely a new rudder stock and new dagger board. If we're feeling brave we might even try a gybing centreboard.
Plane Jane needs to get a mast back on her so that she is ready to sail along the Seine next spring.
Halo Jones is going to have open heart surgery after a fairly disasterous first T-Foil test. I'm sure that Thomas has some more plans in his head.
On the Brest coast, Christophe is making Norwegian Blue reliable after the total transformation she has undergone.
Meanwhile in Vera Cruz, Kurun can be classified as “improving her weapons”.
On the South Coast, Pastatoide and Mango Jam are making the most of the kind conditions in Toulon.
And a Top Secret Cherub construction project is going to see the light of day… more to follow soon.

International News:

Will and Lucy are particularly busy with their studies (and yes the English doctors are just like the French ones, they take exams for the whole of their lives) they are selling Atum Bom and beginning the construction of a new weapon.
The website http://www.uk-cherub.org has been updated to make it more interactive and clear. Have a look to keep up-to-date with what's going on on the other side of the channel.

l'hiver est tombé, la motivation pour aller naviguer est dure à trouver, le moral est dans les botillons, no worries, le Cherub est plein de ressources.

En effet, il est temps d'envahir le garage, de pousser le vélo d'appartement de madame qui ne sert jamais, de dégager la collection de vélo des gamins et les planches de la future armoire IKEA que vous n'avez jamais montée. Au moins avec un Cherub on pense voile l'été en naviguant et l'hiver en bricolant.

Au sommaire :

Cure de jouvence d'Aquamarina par Gilles (et Myriam) : poncage, enduit; peinture, et suppression de tout ce qui est inutile. Attention les vélos, je sens d'ici que la déco va être trendy.
Natural Born Skiffers va subir un lifting pour enfin avoir l'aspect qu'il mérite. Quelques améliorations en vue également dont un nouveau safran et une nouvelle dérive. Si je suis courageux, je vais peut-être tenter une Gybing board.
Plane Jane devrait retrouver un mat et être à même de naviguer au printemps le long de la Seine.
Halo Jones va devoir subir une opération à coeur ouvert après les premier essais de T-Foils assez dévastateurs. Je suis certain que Thomas a d'autres plans en tête.
Du côté de Brest, Christophe fiabilise Norvegian Blues après la totale mutation qu'elle a subis.
Et pendant ce temps là à Vera Cruz, la Kurun série afine ses armes.
Sur là côté sud, Pastatoïde et Mango Jam profite de la douceur de Toulon pour naviguer.
Et sous peu un projet top secret de construction de Cherub de série devrait voir le jour. Plus de nouvelles très vite.

Côté news internationales :

Will et Lucy Lee particulièrement pris par leurs études (et oui les toubibs anglais sont comme les français, ils sont en examen toute leur vie) ont vendus Atum Bom et lancent la construction d'une nouvelle arme.
