Slug Design ideas...updated CAD

Team Draycote are progressing with design ideas for Iain Christie's new boat. Iain and Tom spent the weekend floating round a glassy Portland Harbour (after having rigged in a solid 25 knots) discussing ideas for the new boat, before giving up and taking pictures of I14 T foils and gantries, whilst Simon made some changes to the Slug design, optimising it for the new style of gantry and racks. As you can see from the CAD drawings below the new boat will be very minimalist, the only changes to the below drawings possibly being a split stump to allow the pole to fully retract, and a couple of extra bits of bracing on the gantry, as per the I14 pictures below. The boat is certainly going to be cutting edge, with a Temple Vang, T foil, and the guys are even thinking about adding a controllable gybing daggerboard…watch this space!
