I always wear Showa thermo builders gloves, like the grippy yellow ones but have a sort of fleecy lining, as they are a bit thicker they last a bit longer too and ropes dig into ones hands less, i cut the finger ends off so i can tie knots and undo tangles, used them every month this year!

I use the surgical latex gloves used for.laminating so your hands don't get wet under normal gloves

So Ronin is entered for the Grafham Grand Prix on Sunday. Anyone else coming to play?

We have also booked accomadatio for the Tiger Trophy. Travelodge have a sale of £9 rooms at the moment. We are booked in to the one at Colsterworth.

I seemed to miss most people on and off the water.

I breifly saw EJ and the SK4 and Sarah saw cheese capsizing.  it's amazing that you can go to a big event, race on the same course and not see people.  I did see John and Digby quite a bit ashore.

We started the day with a small breakage.  The bit of rope between the fore stay and the bow broke when we were applying rig tension to the Ent.  Luckily Sarah didn't fall flat on her back and I had the jib halyard in my hand.  Quickly re-tied the offending peice of rope and launched in time for the start.

We realised quite early on that we were unfit and un practiced and made some small errors through the race to finish 75th and 2nd enterprise and very sore.

Didn't capsize!  Sorry guys ;-)

Fleet report from Bloody Mary:

We came, we saw, we got lost.

Great fun had by all (+ team kiddle in the sk4)

EJ report:
EJ had a multiple swim session with Bruce finding that the jump to crew, twin wire, a force 4+ and having a muppet for a helm was a steep curve to drag himself up. We had a hoot, started with the moths and race was sadly ended when helm fell and stuck his hook through a rack.

We had spinnaker issues and our t foil stopped working :/

The main thing that cost us was massive forced capsized to re rig the entire spinnaker system (my fault), then I got lost for a while... although we did finish and actually beat a few people, god knows how.

Thanks for spotting these.

I really should have had my hat on.  The water temperature was not what i was expecting.

No. 11 shows that we can get the main much closer to the centreline with the main sheet bridle.  This is not common on ents yet.
