carbon pole repairs

Hi, I was suggested by a guy at a sailing event, after telling him about my rather broken moth, that i got on the cherub forum to ask for some tips on fixing it. i know its a tad cheeky but it looks like (after reading through posts) that you really know what your doing.

last week i broke the wing on the rear bar. i have identified that the previous builder has bolted through the pole to secure the rudder gantry on obviously creating a week point.

i was wondering if you could suggest good places to purchase new carbon poles and a way in which i could epoxy in the piece which the gantry attaches to.

not sure what size you need but fibretech are good for small diameters.
probably just as easy to make your own.
or windsurfer mast make good tubes.
with anything like wings get a good bonding surface.
use more than you think you need is always agood way to go.
though the true moth way is to make it light if it brakes make it stronger until it stops breaking.

i'm looking at 30mm as thats the size the hull is moulded to. cheers for that.
i've got an old windsurfer mast but is too thick.
think i'm gonna pass on the "true" moth way and go for something that holds together haha, being a 21 year old student means that i can't really afford continual breakages.

a good source of tube is hardy advanced composites in alnwick, or carbonolgy have offcuts quite cheap also.
