97 Rules Boats at 2024 events
« on: October 16, 2023, 09:48:32 AM »
Hi all - I know there was a thread on this a few years back but thought I'd start a new one.

Having owned a few Cherubs in the 90s I have got hold of 2669 (Catananche) and got her going at my home club in Essex (photos on Facebook page - can't work out how to add anything here). My additional weight gained in the intervening decades means we're screwed in anything under F4 but been having a great time nonetheless.

Was wondering if there's still anyone out there sailing an old boat like us - and if so whether there's any interest in getting out to an event. Would be great to have some company, as long as the fast guys don't mind us taking part.

Neil Cardno if you're reading this - have you still got a boat in the garage?!

Cheers, Stafford.

Glad your having fun. I have Monkey for club fun and a faster one for the events.
We would love to see you at events.
I sail monkey with either my wife or 12 yearold son. They really are fun boats.

I’m hoping to get my 97 rules boat to the Nationals this year, 2659, I too haven’t done much in cherubs since the 90’s, it would be great to get a 97 rules “Vintage” fleet going :)
