Saturday:
15+knots. Twin wiring/depowering
Shinys ‘new’ stock disintegrated so spent race one being towed in and replacing the stock and rudder with the straight blade.
Race two shinys kite system exploded so retired from that and decided to call it a day.
While stood onshore for race 3 we saw some collamity on the first downwind leg, Nick had capsized for a long time, later getting towed in, hull out of the water. Dave did a full pitchpole which was strange.
Later we found they had hit Cheney Rock at full chat. Dave coming off lightly with mushed foam in his crash box.
Nick coming off worse with a FUBARed case and snapped pole. This left him out of contention for the rest of the weekend.
No one sailed race 4.
Evening entertainment was an 80’s night, was good to have some classic cheese whilst putting the world to right over some drinks.
Sunday: 7-12knots
Race 5(?) somehow Shiny got away and stayed with the 505’s.
Eleanor and Ej kept fighting behind, Chilli went in to swap to big sails.
Race 6 was hectic! 2 boats each side of the beat, all 4 rounded in 10 seconds, with shiny gybing off early to come inshore who then overtook EJ and gained on Chilli by the bottom mark, ultimately these position stuck, later EJ,s mainsail started to slip down as the eyelet had let go.
Race 7 much the same as race 6 but without EJ.
