Events 2018
« on: December 19, 2017, 08:47:27 PM »
The 2018 season is shaping up as follows:

1 - Rutland 24/25 March - as usual shared with other skiff classes

2 - As last year the weekend races from the Weston Easter Grand Slam event (As this is a week after Rutland I am open to replacing this with another event in late April/early May or October if anyone can recommend/get us an 'in' elsewhere)

3 - Isle of Sheppy SC - May 26/27 shared with the 505 class as per the past couple of years

4 - Grafham - June 23/24 - a restricted multi class skiff event (invite thanks to the 4K's)  Our own start if we muster 6 or more boats

5 - Weymouth regatta - July 7/8 (assumed as website not yet updated)

6 - Queen Mary SC (Inlands) - September 22/23 - shared with RS700 and 4K's

4 out of 6 to count with the Inlands non-discardable (same as past few seasons)

The Nationals will be at Pembrokeshire Yacht club from August 31 to September 2nd.

Aiming to make all, but Weston is looking doubtful due to homework/exams.
Looking forward to the rest of them though!
Thanks

No unfortunately not yet.  The 4K's have pulled out as they have a week long event at Garda in August.

Still working it through with Largs but also very open to other suggestions as with the withdrawal of the 4's we will have to make some compromises with Largs.

Those at the boat show feel free to sound out other classes about sharing their Nationals or other classes coming to Largs with us around the August BH

I'd seriously +1 Garda and bank 2 boats arriving

Alternatively Monaco for the first week of the school holidays could be offered.
Launching could be off CapD'Ail  beach (sand) or we could look at the more expensive YCM option

The last I heard from Largs was that they were still keen even without the 4000's. It would be four days Friday to Monday over the August bank holiday weekend.

If the class is is still looking for other options for the nationals, the Torbay Royal Regatta is on from the 25th - 27th August 2018.

From the website it looks like there will be lots of boats racing, including the VX One Nationals and the 29er Class Summer Championships. The 29ers will also be around two days prior to the main regatta and there is some more racing on the Tuesday if another day or two of racing/blasting is required.
