Apparently Cherubs cannot enter until May 23rd - but I see Nick has cunningly got around this by entering the Phantom class.  Good skills but does that mean he has to sail single handed and eat all the pies?

Technically I do still have Dave, just had the brain wave that if I can source 2 crews me and Dave can split to get more boats afloat.
Thanks
Jamie

Or if you can source 4 crews we would all be happy!

I need to work on Jeremy, without hacking off Graham (his Dad; my brother).

Didn't notice the above early entry warning until too late.  Does anyone have an entry they won't use?

Apparently it is included in the entry fee.   We will probably see what it is like and if no good/still hungry go for the Thai.

A couple of years ago their food looked OK - but wasn't cooked through.  If the weather is good the balcony is a great place to hang out and drink.  If cold/wet a pub is better.

Here is a little report - others feel free to embellish

We had 7 cherubs in total and we sailed in the fast Handicap fleet which was quite a large entry - 37 boats.  The class was dominated by Merlins and Scorpions with the first Cherub listed as 9th.  The results are wrong though and I think the first Cherub will end up 4th or 5th if the results are corrected.

As you might expect given the domination of round hiking boats the wind was light all weekend.  I can't recall twin trapping up wind for more than a moment or 2.  Usagi did finish first on the water in the majority of races but not far enough ahead to save time on the plodders.  It was though quite fun catching up the Ospreys and Fireballs by the first leeward mark (they started 3 minutes ahead)  - even in the L&S conditions.

As to the Cherub racing - it was Usagi conditions so we won 5 of the 6 races.  The other one we were leading but less said about the wind in that race the better.  Marmite made a good showing with a string of 2nds and Dans boat showed some good speed including first Cherub in R4.  Other boats came and went, Green Bananas showed glimpses of speed both upwind and down but lacked consistency, EJ had a stoming last race to finish on a high and Jamie and Dave showed the local fishermen how to trawl properly.  Martin and Una dominated the 97 rules  ;D

In all an enjoyable weekend in the sun, just could have done with 5knts more wind.  I think the club tried some things which didn't quite work coursewise and I've fed this back and they have responded positively.  I'm keen to go back again next year so unless I hear howls of complaint it will be a stop on our 2018 circuit (assuming I'm still in the fixtures job)
