We are having second thoughts.
The forecast looks light and cold, neither are a big motivator for an early start and a long drive.

We will make a decision this evening.

Hope the weekend was fun.
Anyone toying with joining CB at the onomatopoeic reservoir 14th/15th December?

Maybe it will depend on the forecast.

Congratulations to Peter and Paul for showing the Cherub to a wider audience, in conditions that were less than appealing.
I am sure that attending events like this can only help bring people to the class.

We are planning on doing the Datchet Flyer this weekend.

Forecast looks good for Cherubs especially with a PY of 890.

Well done Alex and Clive, creditable 4th off 890 in a big fleet isn't easy - those results suggest tight reaching was the order of the day a lot of boats with dishcloths for kites are up there !

First in race 2, very well done ! Peter and Paul were flying the flag too, looks like they may have found it a bit more challenging ... certainly looked nasty out there as I finished off some left over port and stilton :)

There was some great sailing over the weekend but it was very very busy.
Saturday was a Goldie Locks day. The first race was a bit light, the second just right and the third a bit windy.
On the second one we managed to break clear from the pack of 12 Musto Skiffs + others and once in free air could sail competitively.

When in the pack it was very hard, both in the light when we did not have the speed to get through and in the breeze when every manoeuvre seemed to let boats back past.

The mass pursuit race on the Sunday was once again in a strongly building breeze. On the last 5 very short legs we traded places with Luke Patience in the Fireball 6 times. He snuck inside us at the final gybe as we hesitated to stay upright and took the win by just a few seconds.

Paul and Peter were going much faster than their results give credit to.
They beat us in the first race and repeatedly swapped places with us in the first half of the pursuit race until they got too friendly with an Osprey.

I think that a lot of sailors will have seen more of what a modern Cherub can do. Hopefully the publicity will be spread further in the press reports.

I have never before heard of left over Port and Stilton.

I was considering it, the forecast gets lighter and lighter, so I have stopped considering it now !

Might stand on the shore with tea.

The lack of wind forecast means that Andy will now have a comfortable seat in the race box, and I get a lay in.

Current "live" web stream suggests 16oc and the low end of a F3. Hope those that went are having fun.
