battle of the classes race.
« on: August 19, 2013, 01:57:06 PM »
This is being held on the 22nd September alongside the southampton boat show.  It is being hosted at the Southampton watersports centre near the itchen bridge.  I expect that the racing will be on that stretch of the itchen but the NOR is not too detailed.  Each class is allowed to enter 2 boats but it is down to the competitor to enter through the Y & Y website.

We could be interested as it is on our doorstep.
Any idea what py they are using?
HISC have dropped the cherub rating again to 769. Clearly we are not buying beer for the right committee members.

Just realised that it clashes with the start of the Little America's cup In Falmouth.
We are going down to see some properly interesting boats. (not much chance of anything interesting at the boat show)

I think that PYs are being set by Bar room banter not by on the water performance.

It would be great to see more Cherubs down here. At High tide we can get big courses long legs, flat water and clean wind. :)

Would your price be less than is required to corrupt the sailing committee?

Much, much lower than the incorruptible HISC committee as I have no morals but sadly it is too far. You'll just have to sandbag a few races and pull out the speed for the big ones (did I tell you I had no morals?)

Maybe we can tempt EWl Presidente' to enter with the Cherub on stilts.  The PY shouldn't be a problem then.

Seriously is anyone interested.  This is a showcase event and in the past attracted the top sailors of each fleet.
