2653 ?
« on: July 09, 2012, 08:44:01 AM »
OK, so I think this is 2654, It lloks like the boat in the pictures. However, the main has 2653 on it.
Any clues appreciated...

PS. It is a while since Will published a Binnovation, but we were a set of cleats short when we rigged her. Here the solution is to make Cunno double as a boat breaker (or vice versa)!

Actually she looks pretty cool. Ok, so she needs a paint job, but hoist that kite and she  wants to fly!

I have a vague recollection of a misnumbered sail for 2654. Curiously I have no recollection of the actual boat 2653 at all. What's in the archives about who it was registered to?

I'm almost certain there never was a 2653. 2652 & 2654 are the two Flying Trifles. Presumably 2653 was allocated to boat which was never completed. There were a lot of Bistro's being created in different places at that time. The Class Registrar back then was Will Perrett (owner of Madge Allsop), but I believe he went off to live in Australia about 20 years ago, and I'm not sure if he ever came back. Is there anything in the archives?

Martin has given 2654 a touch of paint and a grip on the decks. It looks lovely in the photos from over 8ft away.

Oh it is great to have the forum back!
Martin and his family called in to see us last weekend and he showed us some pictures of the trifle which is looking smart for a coat of paint and some pro grip. He had been out for a blast with his dad and it appears to have put a big grin on their faces. Sadly Martin can't make the nationals but he will make the boat available to anyone who can pick it up from Bassenthwaite. Any interest, please get in touch.
