Can someone please identify this tape product
« on: June 08, 2012, 01:36:13 PM »
Can someone help identify what this tape product is and where I can get some more from, I used the last bit of it last night in the t-foil case.

I was given some a while back that I use for packing out daggerboard and rudder cases.

It's about 20mm wide and about 5mm thick and consists of loads of small fibre bristles packed very tightly sticking up from the tape. It's got the Scotch brand name on the backing sheet to the adhesive side.

It's definitely not Velcro.

I think it is some sort of draft excluder or similar type of thing

try Mike Saul: http://www.dinghy-services.co.uk/services.html
I think the Vortex uses it for their rudder stock.
