As ever Thornbury regatta's  legendary evening entertainment just gets better.
A young 5 piece band '5 Second Rule' who have connections with thornbury SC and who were played on Radio 2 last year are performing at this year's regatta. Together they probably just pip graham and Eddie in collective years.

You never thought we could find anything more interesting than last year. Did you?

But will you dance like last year, daddy kirk? And Roland says, what? No camp man blowing a pink tuba?

Weather forecast looks good. I'm sure one of the regulars will be along to explain what happens at Thornbury when the guru says this.

On a less positive side the Doctor is still prescribing me regualar naps and to avoid marathon exercise sessions. Already  needed a nap in the carpark today. If Evo sails on Sat please do not be upset if we only make one start.

There will be sausages and beer on Friday night.

Do we have a final(ish) idea of who is coming?

Born Slippy (Nick and Jo?)

Ronin
E-numbers (with one or two Kirks on board)
Marmite
Riot Van
Banshee Ambulance
Subtle Knife?

...?

Feel free to ask us to hold food for you on the Friday - PMs to Hayley or texts - we will ensure we keep checking the phones.

Forecast is looking good, but is changing every few hours. 12kts with gusts of 20 from the SW is perfect Thornbury weather for a beat up the shore and run down the middle of the river. Sundays forecast when I looked last night was for 8-16kts from NW which would have been interesting with the wind coming straight across the river making course setting a challenge but good downwind legs against the incoming tide. The latest forecast would suggest a bit more northerly but a touch lighter, perhaps forcing a run up the shore? Interestingly there seems to be a big discrepancy between the various forecasters. Met office were suggesting SSW F4-5 for Sat and WSW F3-4 on Sunday?

I spotted Jill and Andy dropping off their boat yesterday (I was camping down at the club for the week with my family, but the weather forecast for Thurs & Fri looked like tent damaging stuff so packed up last night). Lets hope for a good event on the water.

For info the D-Ones are also likely to be attending (3-5 boats) so we should have a bumper turnout.

I do not think that we are going to come on Saturday.
It looks like a high chance of being too much wind for us, and Alex is being pushed to do an athletics event.
The Met office has 18 gusting 25 for Avonmouth on Saturday coming straight up the channel which looks like a good venturi.
Thornbury in a SW looks rather more exposed than Weston, esp when that tide starts to rip out.

The forecasts for Sunday are all over the place. If they look sensible we may well come up for the day either on Sunday morning or Saturday night.

Hopefully summer will arrive for the Royal Vic.

If you are comming A2 then hop over the bridge to Decathlon. It's at the top of the West Thurrock trading estate. Not so hot on fittings, but the wetsuits are cheap.

Failing that call Andy at Wet and windy. If I know before 1pm tomorrow I can deliver to Thornbury.
