For those of you that don't kinow we will be sharing the event with the B14's.  The advantage of this is that we get our own course on both days so not sharing with the club racing on Sunday (as was the case last year).  We will have separate starts to the B14's but race round the same w/l course.  West (bigger side) on Saturday, Eastern side on Sunday.  QMSC is full to the brim at the moment so plenty of space.

Looks like we will get into double figure attendance so should be great racing.  I think the new Atoms posted that they will attend, Dave and Lara said they would try, any update?

Atum Bom is definitely in. does anybody know the line on switching crews half way through? it is not looking like I am going to have one crew able to make both days  :-[
Like Banshee Ambulance, we are probably not up to racing just yet but considering the light wind forecast for next weekend we will give the first few races a bash. If we are just getting in the way of others racing, we'll retire and have a sail of our own. We need the practice anyway.

Following the maxim of if it ain't broke..... I have booked us a table for 14 at 9pm at the Shahin in Lower Sunbury (same place as last time) on the assumption we will get about 10 boats and most but not all will be sticking around for the evenings beer and curry.

They are a very popular curry house so if I need to bump up the numbers I'll need to let them know by Saturday morning.

As last year it looks like the weather is set to provide us with a last taste of summer, so the sailing and an evening by the river should work well.

Is anyone doing any boat shopping before the weekend? I was wondering if anyone could pick me up sone sail numbers. Obviously we can refund and compensate for the trouble with bevearage of choice.

I did type "Sunday is still 10 days away so it will more than likely change by then!" but have since been told that the event is THIS weekend! Has the date been changed, or was I looking at last years dates?! I must be losing it in my old age... my run is next weekend but sadly I also busy this weekend doing some birthday celebrating.

Have a good weekend all... even if there is no wind you should get a sun tan  ;D

How long are your weeks Tim? Sunday is the day after the day after tomorrow. And does that mean your 10k run is 2 days away or 9 days away? Wishful thinking?

Forecast looks slightly better on the met office website.  6 MPH saturday and 8 MPH Sunday. Lets hope it is a steady breeze.

A thought,  if the B14's don't have a minimum wind speed limit and sail in 4 knots of wind and we sit on the bank watching do they look desperate for a sail or do we look stupid for being inflexible with our rule?

For a fair race the wind has to be settled and steady across the course and i'm sure the RO will insist on fair conditions.

Good news John, good to get another E5 on the water.  Yes no problem for floor space for you and Maff.

Regarding minimium windspeed - wasn't that written into the SI for the nationals and not a cover all class rule - so we are not bound to it and the PRO can be sensible on the day.  In any case hopefully the breeze will be just enough for us not to worry.  Windguru is looking more hopeful than a couple of days ago.  28 degrees and 7 knts up at QMSC at the moment.  That will do nicely (for us.....)
