hi there i have mixed response from people for putting a fulse floor in my boat. so i have opened this chat up so i can hear wot every one thinks i was set on doing it but now not to shore so please help i know it makes it heavier but dose make it easyer to sail and will strengthen it i think. it has had some big holes in it not by me and have also hear today that at some point the hole bottom had burst down its seam once now been glued and fixed so please help and let me know it you have done it or wether you decided not to and if you have put a fulse floor in was it worth it thanks jim

A false floor is quite a lot of work, and will make the boat heavier and more difficult to maintain. Truly I would advise keeping the boat as is. It'll also be more fun to sail due to being lighter. Extra strength can be made in a number of ways.

Tom Kiddle is the person to talk to about this though.

I have been tempted to put a false floor in Stanley but have decided against it. The reasons being; 1) It is another tank to leak. 2) weight 3) I only sail stanley when it is windy so dont have to put up with the boat full of water thing too often, which, is the primary reason for a false floor as far as old boats are concerned.
