Tata Steel Sailing Club Dinghy Open
« on: September 18, 2012, 01:26:45 PM »
Tata Steel (formerly Corus, formerly formerly British Steel) near Port Talbot are holding their annual dinghy open on the  6th and 7th of October (http://www.corussailing.org.uk/ ).  Fubar is considering heading east for the weekend................... forecast dependent of course and if I can source enough duct tape to reduce the porosity of the sails.

We saw Fubar strutting her stuff on Sunday.  Looked good and was going well in Gav's hands.

They were sailing off 930 so their overal positions were not so good.

the event was very busy with very little room on the slipway and inside the dinghy pound when all boats were ashore between races.  Someone said a total of 70 boats.  I was sailing the ent in the slow fleet and came second in each race to a very well sailed streaker.  We were neck and neck all the way round and 1/2 a leg ahead of the faster wayfarers.
