Come on down.......to Whitstable
« on: January 20, 2010, 09:06:21 PM »
Just a quick call out to see how many of the Cherubs are looking to base themselves at WYC this year, or would look to want to visit for a weekend ot two of boat tuning or race training.

Last year we had 3 members (and a visit by 'Stu with the golden shoe'), but Antidote and Loco all but disappeared half way through the year. I think that was principally due to events.

It would be good to get a sounding, as now i am training in and racing Moths, it would be great to see the more of the innovative seek refuge with the innovative, and come on down to the Riviera of the East for some memorable sailing!

Loco's crew will be at whitstable this year , however full time jobs, college work and children, greatly effect the amount of time we can donate to sailing. Thats without events and putting a new boat together.
BUT we will be there.

Not good news in this camp either, we're not intending to be whitstable members this year as last year we just didnt get to go enough, and it has a lot of minus points for family reasons.

Howsever, if we're lucky enough to be invited by a member, we'll gladly pitch up for a day or two, especially early season ....

We'll be there - and more than last year (Lucy had exams in the autumn)

See you at the workday 14th March!

Visiting boats aren't a problem at all, as a number of members will be only to happy to sign you in on different occasions.
There is not even a visitors fee, so all you need do is use the galley or bar for welcoming grub and grog!
Just co-ordinate with Will or Simon if there are a number of you wanting to come for race practice etc and we can happy accommodate some weekend parking slots.
i don't know about you lot, but  now the temp is rising more, I can't wait to unleash myself and get out there!
Family is important, but there is a need to fill the memory banks with good sailing days too!
2010 - let it roll.

We have been super organised (for us anyway) and penciled the following sailing dates into our diaries.

We are going to be sailing at Whitstable on the following dates, unless they clash with official Cherub events:

March 14, 20, 21st
April 2-5th (Easter Nip), 11, 17, 18th
May 1, 2, 8, 16, 22, 23rd
June 5th (such a rubbish month: blame Will, he is going to Bergen & Glasgow). We might try for some Sundays, but can't commit.
July 3, 10, 24, 26-31st (Whitstable Week)
We haven't forgotten July 17-18th in Thornbury.
August 7 & 14th

Then it is the three weekends in a row of Largs, Largo and Carnac!

All are welcome to come as our guests to any or all of the above.....

Lucy

Now, where did I leave that sandpaper?
