Where is everyone sailing this winter???

i;m fancying somewhere warm like kent any ideas should we see if we can get a few together at a winter series somewhere??

I wonder why you want to go winter sailing in kent?!?!  somewhere where a decent number of boats can gather is a good idea, afraid i wouldnt be travelling too far though as late sunday nights makes school a b***h for monday morning


Think we were planning on winter sailing at Draycote, but that depends on a large number of things like hockey, mountain biking....me and hoppy ever finishing the kitchen

I'm planning on taking a bit of a break this winter. I will go out a bit, but think I am getting a bit old for swimming around in the cold!

We plan to sail at Whitstable, where we have been memebrs for 3 weeks and we haven't even been there since we became members!

We'll be there when we are not at the inlands or at Sticky Weekends or whatever.

Whitstable is in Kent, but it's not somewhere warm - unless you know something I don't....

well whitstable it is and of course its warm especially when they set fire to the channel tunnel

I think I've been sailing at the wrong club for the past ten years then. As I've not noticed the tropical tempretures of Whitstable in November. That said Whitstable sail until mid December on Sundays, then stop until March , when the barmy tempretures/barmy sailors come back.

A few hardy cat sailors go out if the weather is right, however there is no rescue cover/club racing organised.

Stenhouse training weekend - Rutland - 29/30Nov

Does anyone fancy a combination of training/blasting/racing weekend at Rutland on one of Richard Stenhouse's training weekends? I spoke to the Sten's and they would be happy to have us along en mass and I could assist on the Cherub specifics. The first one clashes with the 'sticky weekend', so how about aiming for the 2nd one on 29/30th Nov? To test the new kit! Rutland is reasonably central for most and it would be nice to extend the season before the water gets cold. If enough people are up for it in principal perhaps we should agree to communicatre on this forum whether it is a go-er at the last minute (ie the Thurday) based on a favourable forecast of 6-20knots. I joined a weekend in a borrowed  Musto Skiff last year and can fully recommend it as fun and very beneficial! There is cozy club bar, nice local pub and club dorms available. The price is an incredibly good value £15 per weekend.

Balls. That coincides with the Earls Court boat show for me which is a pain as that would have been a great opportunity to test out my new board if it gets that far.

If not, I will try and get to the one on the 6th-7th in either the newly refurbished Cherub, or a 14 foot racked sitty out thing which I may have recently acquired!

We sailed at Whitstable in bright sunshine and very variable breeze on Sat and Sunday. We are doing the same this weekend coming.
